Cork Public Museum is the oldest local authority museum in Ireland, celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2020.

The museum is housed in two buildings: a mid-nineteenth century Georgian style house, and a modern extension that was opened in 2005.

The museum contains a fine selection of silver, ceramics and other memorabilia connected with Cork’s civic life.

There is also a rich representation of the archaeological and medieval history of Cork and its surroundings in the museum.

There are also exhibition spaces, contained in three permanent spaces. The exhibitions rotate three times a year.
